There was a man who travelled to the market with his son to sell his donkey. On his way, someone laughed at him and told him, “hey, this donkey should carry you to the market!” So he hopped on the donkey. As he walked further, a lady told him that he should let his son ride on the donkey too. So the man and his son rode on the donkey. As they continued with their journey, they met someone who said, “poor donkey! you should carry the donkey. So the man and his son hopped out and carried the donkey. When they reached the market, people in the market were wondering, what kind of people are these that a carrying a strong and healthy donkey to the market for sale!
That is a good lesson for everyone. We should make good decisions once and for all and stick to the decisions we make. If we listen to everyone’s different suggestions, we will get lost.
Below are some decision making tips to consider when travelling:-
- Consider the purpose of the trip – is it business or leisure? Plan what to carry according to the nature of the trip.
- Check the weather of the location you are travelling and carry appropriate clothing.
- Budget for the trip and include contingencies so that you are not caught off-guard in case of emergencies.
- Consider the culture of the people and also consider safety especially during the pandemic period.
Finally have a checklist of things to do and what to carry. Make sound decisions when travelling.
